LE RÊVE AFRICAIN
Révélateur de talents
PRESENTS THE AFRO PEPITES SHOW
THE 2018 PEPITES
9th edition of the Selections of the African Dream!
The great discoveries identified by the committee and the web users!
The AFRO PEPITES SHOW is the 1st project hunting talents from Africa through internet…
We have “agitated” the artists on the Internet, widened our communication networks to harvest a new artistic bunch dedicated to:
- Professionals of culture willing to highlight new talents (media, managers, producers, organizers, distributors, tour managers…)
- Internet users interested in discovering new cultural trends.
This year too the Listeners’ committee has discovered 287 projects.
It has short-listed 18 projects which have made a difference thanks to their originality, their quality and/or their commitments.
Then, Internet users voted to support their favourite project!
This result is the fruit of a collaborative selection.
| Thank you all for your participation |
| ENJOY THE DISCOVERIES AND SPREAD THE WORD |
THE NEXT CASTING will mark the 10th edition!
The dates will be announced as soon as possible.
THE VIDEO ANNOUNCEMENT
1st Pepite ● ÉLIE AGANZE BISHIKWABO | DRCONGO | CONTEMPORARY ●
● Biography :
Born in 1996 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Elie Aganze Bishikwabo is a fashion designer who works in Kampala (Uganda).
Having practiced very well in the sewing workshop held by his mother at their home, Elie Aganze made his debut in fashion design in 2009, a day when he realized that he could not go to school because he did not have a school bag: he did not have enough money. The saying in Swahili that means "famine teaches how to eat" comes to his mind, so he designs his own schoolbag with jeans....
From this story came his passion for fashion. In 2016 Elijah obtained his state diploma and headed to Uganda in 2017 to develop his talent as a fashion designer by attending the "Industrial Arts and Design" University in Kampala.
After his success at the Institutional Fashion Tour, Elie Aganze began his professional career. In November 2017, Elie took part in Urban Fashion Week as a fashion designer, then participated in the Pearl of Africa Fashion Awards and MADZ Company Fashion Show. In 2018, Elie took part in Steevz K Fashion Week, then he participated in African Realist Model TV Show Launch; and exhibited his collection at the fashion show Toza Fier then at the mafa (Sudanese Fashion Show in Uganda), and at the Kigali Fashion Week with TMP Empire.
Futur prospects: In 2012, Elie surrounded himself with his brothers to create bac (Bishikwabo Arts & Couture) a clothing brand and a family arts association. It is around this brand that he focuses his current work, hoping that over time he will rise to the ranks of the world's leading fashion designers such as Gucci, Vuitton and Jean-Paul Gauthier. Since the summer 2018, and his meeting at the Bayimba Festival with the art collective JustaHub, Elie has created a brand new collection, JustaLokoStyle, in partnership with Kongoloko, and Sophia Lindsay Burns (Founder of JustaHub), and developed her talent as a textile designer for scenography.

● LOOKING FOR a Manager, Producer, publishers, booking agencies
3rd Pepite ● CHIMÈRE | SENEGAL | FIGURATIVE PAINTAING, GRAFFITI ●
Chimere, Oumar Diaw by his real name, is a realistic draughtsman who knows the world of the visual arts well. He honours his presence in graffiti by creating portraits that leave no one indifferent.
Chimère considers himself a painter but the graffiti stage has revealed many things to him that at some point he considers himself more as a graffiti artist.
So he struggles like a devil's chimera to be able to make a valuable work. Being a very resourceful person, Chimere does not expect anyone to do what he wants to do.
For him "the artist is that individual who is always ready to compose, from the point of view of sight, hearing, hearing... something of a chimera. Artist is this person who is ready to awaken people's sensitivity. Art is a refuge for sad people. He is to unleash sadness in the consumer's heart and introduce joy. But also, he is to denounce, because Street Art allows us to denounce injustices. He is also a means of prevention". (See Rbscrew)
